An extraordinary program that engages a cast of guest artists and divides the chorus in two: The women of the chorus begin the program with Holst’s gorgeous Choral Hymns followed by Debussy’s lovely setting of Gabriel Dante-Rosetti’s poem about medieval love. The second half is for male chorus, soloists and orchestra in a concert staging of one of Stravinsky’s masterpieces, his oratorio based on Sophocles’Oedipus Rex. |
